What is a Youth Action Team? 

The Outset Youth Action Team (OYAT) is a group of vinspired volunteers (16 –25) and Outset Youth Action members (13-16) who help develop volunteering projects, promote volunteering to other young people in the area and influence the way Outset Youth Action is run.

Outset Youth Action has three YAT Teams across West Sussex allowing everyone to easily attend the meetings. These are: The Northern YAT (Crawley, Mid Sussex, East Grinstead), The Southern YAT (Chichester, Bognor, Arun, Littlehampton), and the Central YAT (Horsham, Adur, Worthing).

Youth Action Team’s meet once every 6 weeks to provide feedback on recent volunteering projects, plan new celebration events and discuss local youth issues. There are also larger team days where all the West Sussex Youth Action Team’s meet up to enjoy a day of team building, workshops and socialising.

What will a Youth Action Team Do?

As a member of the Outset Youth Action Team you will organise celebration events and be the voice of youth volunteering. You will gain new skills, get involved in the local community, meet new people and have the opportunity to gain accreditation and access free training.

Who can join a YAT?

Anyone can join a Youth Action Team. Outset want to encourage people from all areas of West Sussex with varying different skills and interests to get involved in ‘Championing’ Youth Volunteering.

Outset Youth Action will pay for any out of pocket expenses including travel expenses to and from YAT meetings.
