Outset Youth Action is an independent countywide youth organisation unique to West Sussex. We support young people aged 13-25 who wish to make a personal commitment to volunteering. It is the v Involved Team for West Sussex playing an essential role in delivering v’s national framework for youth action by putting young people at the heart of volunteering and enabling them to undertake projects that reflect their passions, cares and interests.

Since 1976 Outset has provided opportunities for young people to perform a wide variety of tasks within the community. The volunteering opportunities not only benefit the community but also contribute to each young person’s own personal development.

Outset aims to introduce young people to activities which will help them to prepare for the changes and challenges they will meet as adults. Volunteering with Outset also aims to reaffirm our best values and to help young people to build a culture where rights and responsibilities are properly balanced.

As Outset moves into the future it will continue to expand its operation to respond to national and local needs and concerns. Outset will continue to strive to implement equal opportunities by working together with other organisations to allow all young people to take part. Outset will continue to provide more opportunities and support to enable young people with additional needs to work with, and for, others in the community.
